I have had the privilege of working with Stephen at Ty-Ni Design over the course of about four years. I brought two ideas for him to work up into fully-fledged commercial products, and he did a stunning job with both. One product was a night light for children, and my original idea was quite complicated. Stephen worked out how to simplify it to not only make it cheaper to manufacture but also more efficient and easier to use for parents. I appreciate that he was able to challenge me as the client and show me how he could make things better.
Not only is he an excellent product designer, but he’s also a lovely man to work with. He is honest, thoughtful, and has a good sense of humour. The Gro-light he designed 14 years ago is still selling well on Amazon today. That is a testament to his good design. I would recommend Stephen and Ty-Ni Design thoroughly.

If you're lucky enough to work with Ty-Ni Design, you’ll quickly realize they’re not just a one-of-a-kind team—they’re basically unicorns, except they actually exist and come with design software instead of sparkly horns. I’ve worked with many professionals, but Steve and his crew stand out like a flamingo in a flock of pigeons. Not only are they wildly creative, but they’re also as reliable as your favourite pair of sweatpants (you know the ones).
We teamed up on a project so ambitious that even I thought, “Okay, this is probably where dreams go to die.” But Ty-Ni Design delivered something so incredible, I’m still wondering if they secretly hired a wizard. They listened to my ideas, politely nodded at my amateur suggestions, and then casually made them ten times better. The end result? Innovative, practical, and so stunning I’m tempted to frame it.
